Frogs play an important role in the ecological environment; as their main source of food is insects, they effectively help to keep the insect population under control. Numerous countries around the world consider frogs as an important environmental indicators, because their skin is extremely sensitive towards the environment. If there are excessive UV rays or if the water is contaminated, frogs are often the first to be impacted. Consequently, monitoring their population and any malformations that may have occurred have become a crucial environmental protection agenda.
There are currently 31 species of frogs in Taiwan, of which 14 species can be found in the Yun Hsien Resort (42% of the frog species in Taiwan). Furthermore, the population of each frog species here is also relatively large, in turn demonstrating the outstanding quality of the Yun Hsien Resort’s natural environment.
